داستان فیلم اقتباسی از یک داستان واقعی است. قصه نویسنده ثروتمندی به نام فیلیپ که در اثر سقوط با چتر معلول می‌شود و برای پرستاری از خود مردی به اسم دریس را استخدام می‌کند. فیلیپ تا قبل از استخدام دریس؛ مردی بداخلاق و غیر قابل تحمل بود اما با حضور دریس که شخصی است که سابقه سرقت و زندان نیز دارد زندگی و شخصیت فیلیپ متحول می‌شود.دریس زندگی فیلیپ را به طور کامل عوض می کند. زندگی کسل کننده فیلیپ با ورود دریس تغییر می کند به گونه ای که از بیرون رفتن با آمبولانس ، به بیرون رفتن با ماشین های مازراتی خود رو می آورد.

دست نیافتنی‌ها (به فرانسوی: Intouchables)، (به انگلیسی: The Intouchables) فیلمی کمدی درام به کارگردانی مشترک‌الیور ناکاشه و اریک تولدانو است که در سال 2011 در فرانسه ساخته شده‌است.

Paul is a sweet man-child, raised — and smothered — by his two eccentric aunts in Paris since the death of his parents when he was a toddler. Now thirty-three, he still does not speak. Although Paul practices dutifully, he remains unfulfilled until he submits to the interventions of his upstairs neighbour. Suitably named after the novelist, Madame Proust offers Paul a concoction that unlocks repressed memories from his childhood and awakens the most delightful of fantasies.
