داستان

فیلم داستان یک پسر نوجوان به نام مارتی مک‌فلای را روایت می‌کند که به صورت تصادفی در زمان سفر می‌کند و از سال 1985 به 1955 منتقل می‌شود. او والدین خود را در دبیرستان ملاقات می‌کند و تصادفاً موجب برهم خوردن رابطه آن‌ها می‌شود. مارتی باید تغییری که در گذشته ایجاد کرده را اصلاح کند و کاری کند تا والدینش عاشق یک‌دیگر شوند و سپس با کمک دانشمندی به نام دکتر امت براون راهی جهت بازگشت به سال 1985 بیابد
