فیلم The Conjuring: Last Rites (احضار: آخرین مناجات)، که به عنوان فصل پایانی و حماسی برای داستان اصلی دنیای سینمایی احضار (The Conjuring Universe) برای اکران در سال 2025 برنامه‌ریزی شده، قرار است بار دیگر زوج نمادین محققان فراطبیعی، اد و لورین وارن را برای یک رویارویی نهایی با تاریکی به پرده سینماها بازگرداند. این فیلم که بار دیگر با حضور ستارگان اصلی این مجموعه، پاتریک ویلسون (Patrick Wilson) و ویرا فارمیگا (Vera Farmiga) و تحت نظارت معمار این دنیا، جیمز وان (James Wan) ساخته شده، وعده ترسناک‌ترین و احساسی‌ترین قسمت این سه‌گانه اصلی را می‌دهد.

همانطور که از عنوان فیلم، “آخرین مناجات” (Last Rites)، پیداست، این قسمت داستان آخرین پرونده بزرگ و وحشتناک اد و لورین وارن را روایت می‌کند. پس از سال‌ها مبارزه با نیروهای شیطانی و کمک به خانواده‌های بی‌شمار، این زوج حالا باید با خطرناک‌ترین و پیچیده‌ترین مورد حرفه خود روبرو شوند.

داستان فیلم، آن‌ها را درگیر پرونده‌ای می‌کند که شامل “موجودات مرموزی” است که باید با آن‌ها مقابله کنند. این موجودات، برخلاف دشمنان قبلی، ماهیتی ناشناخته و قدرتی فراتر از تصور دارند و ایمان، شجاعت و حتی پیوند میان اد و لورین را به سخت‌ترین شکل ممکن به چالش می‌کشند. این پرونده، نه تنها آن‌ها را تا مرز توانایی‌هایشان پیش می‌برد، بلکه به نظر می‌رسد پایانی بر دوران فعالیت آن‌ها به عنوان جنگیر و محقق فراطبیعی باشد.

مانند قسمت‌های قبلی، این فیلم نیز الهام‌گرفته از پرونده‌های واقعی اد و لورین وارن است و با ترکیب وحشت فراطبیعی، درام انسانی و تمرکز بر رابطه عاشقانه و قدرتمند این زوج، قصد دارد تا پایانی درخور و به یاد ماندنی برای شخصیت‌هایی که این دنیای سینمایی را آغاز کردند، رقم بزند. The Conjuring: Last Rites نه تنها یک فیلم ترسناک، بلکه یک رویداد سینمایی برای طرفداران این ژانر و پایانی بر یک دوران است.
